The Pit of Legends/ Legends Arena
The Pit of Legends – Project Breakdown
Project Overview
The Pit of Legends is a competitive PvP Arena combat game built in UEFN for Fortnite Creative. Developed at JOGO, this project attracted over 20,000 players at launch. I led the engineering of player progression systems, reward logic, cosmetic expression, and debug tooling. The game rewarded players for killstreaks, escalated threat levels, and encouraged high-stakes encounters through leaderboard-style bounties.
Gameplay / Systems Highlights
Killstreak-based bounty escalation (5 levels)
Player heat meter visualizing current bounty level
Public Bounty Board showing top 3 hunted players
VFX indicators and score rewards for hunting bounty targets
Cosmetic Calling Cards shown on death screen and lobby
Real-time XP integration with Fortnite’s battle pass
Technical Breakdown
Bounty Progression System: Implemented a system where kill counts automatically escalated player bounty level, with XP bonuses granted to bounty hunters
Heat Meter: Built a visual tracker showing escalating player status tied to bounty level; visible to the hunted player
Bounty Board UI: Created a live leaderboard displaying top bounty targets and their ranks
Calling Card System:
Designed customizable card overlays using 2D texture arrays
Implemented preview stations and collectible unlock logic
Integrated death screen overlay for killer's identity
VFX Device Integration: Used global VFX triggers to broadcast bounty visuals above high-value targets
Debug Tools: Created unlock toggles and bounty escalation debug tooling for QA to test features rapidly
